It's that time of year again when thoughts turn to Christmas presents. Here's my list for Santa Claus...
An elegant metal (no plastic here please) Haws watering can.... bright red would be nice...
A pair of funky colourful wellies...
I saw this sign at a Garden Open Day in Fife. I fancied putting one at the front gate...
Some eucomis bulbs. I grew them in the same pot for years with no bother then a couple of years ago lost the lot.. oh and the pot broke too...
An old pie crust terracotta pot, (preferably from the Whichford Pottery) I'd better put that on my wish List too...
Renewal of my annual subscription to Garden Organic...
And finally, a few extra pairs of hands would come in useful...
What would other gardeners like for Christmas?

I like the sign about trespassers. :) My Christmas list would consist of a list of plants and bulbs that are taller than I am. I hope your Christmas wishes come true.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sweet bay. I don't need any of these things on my list excpet maybe the helping hands!
ReplyDeleteHi Janet...
ReplyDeleteI already have the red Haws watering can and funky wellies... Could use the extra hands, but then I know if someone else touches my garden I might well scream at them, so perhaps not the best idea :D
I do hope some of your christmas wishes come true :)
I quite fancy a pair of wacky wellies too!
ReplyDeleteI like the 'Trespassers' sign made me chuckle. At the moment I have only garden books on my wish list, but I am sure I can think of plenty of other things if I try hard enough. I like your choices though.
ReplyDeleteI love the sign!
ReplyDeleteI'm after mushroom identifying books this year. There are so many growing in the lawns and about the place that I want to know if I can eat them. Om nom nom...
Liz I think these guys looked well trained...
ReplyDeleteOf all the things on the list (none of which I really need) I want the sign but only in metal. It made me laugh the first time that I saw it.
Lovely choice of wishes - loved your trespassers notice - could do with one of those and some snazzy wellies. I think what I would really like are some lovely brightly coloured tub trugs and a new pair of legs!!
ReplyDeleteI love eucomis and the trespass signs. Any old pots will do for me. Can't be choosy as I have so many things I would like to pot up this next year.
ReplyDeleteI think jolly Wellies brighten up the day. Mine present ones are dull blue... As for a new pair of legs Pauline, we could ll do with them. Mind you I could see myself with my feet up directing operations for a while..
ReplyDeleteI never seem to have enough pots, tufa girl. A lot of ours are older that why I was a bit upset when our old pie crust cracked and broke.
nice list Janet, I guess from your list helping hands would be good, for my garden I would like a truckload of clay/volcanic soil something that would feed my plants, I love the watering can but it's too nice to use, Frances
ReplyDeleteLast year R managed to wrap a 40 litre tub trug, so I am letting him off lightly this year and asking for a photo album which fits 6x4.5 prints.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine is always talking about composting people - so another mutual friend made her a sign like that. We are all slightly worried about visiting her :o
